Human Reformer is a Pilates-inspired group fitness format that replicates the benefits of a Pilates reformer using resistance bands (Flex Kords) — no reformer or expensive equipment required. It builds core strength, alignment, and total-body muscular control through controlled tempo, resistance, and intentional sequencing, all rooted in the six foundational Pilates principles.

Human Reformer classes can be taught in 30, 45, 55, or 60-minute formats.

No! That’s the beauty of Human Reformer. The format uses Flex Kords (resistance bands) to replicate reformer movement on the mat. The majority of exercises use your own body — arms, feet, or hips — as the anchor point. You’ll also learn how to incorporate a barre if one is available, but it’s absolutely not required.

Human Reformer uses Flex Kords — specifically 1 XL Flex Kord and 2 Long Flex Kords. These are included with your in-person registration. Livestream participants will receive instructions on how to order their Flex Kords prior to the training. Studios and gyms can save 15% on bulk orders with the code FPP15 at FlexMvmt.com. Both formats deliver the same comprehensive education and certification. Here’s how they differ:

  • 7-hour in-person: All content is covered live in a full-day, hands-on session with real-time feedback, hands-on corrections, and in-depth discussion.
  • 4-hour hybrid livestream: 4 hours of live content covers foundational concepts and practical application. The remaining 3 hours of on-demand content — including detailed exercise breakdowns for both anchor-based and mat-only variations — can be completed at your own pace.

The hybrid format is great for instructors with busy schedules or facilities looking to minimize class cancellations during training.
